Winter Getaway Deals: Disney Cruise, Poconos, Santa Fe, Chicago and More Family Vacation Discounts

President’s Day Weekend is on the horizon and a family getaway is especially refreshing during the dog days of winter. The following destinations offer families a much-needed break at discounted prices.  If you’re looking for an all-inclusive hotel near NYC, an urban escape in Philadelphia, Norfolk or Chicago, a ski vacation in Santa Fe, Beaver Creek or New Hampshire, or a discount Disney Cruise, read on for some money saving winter deals.

Woodloch Pines
If you’re a New York family in search of an all-inclusive vacation close to home, Woodloch Pines in Hawley, Pennsylvania could be your answer.  They have tons of indoor and outdoor activities for every age and interest.  If you can manage a mid-week escape, pay for three nights and get a fourth night free until February 14.  Rates start at $130 per night for adults, with deep discounts for kids and teens.  Click here to see when kids stay free.  Woodloch Pines has some good weekend discounts, so head on over to their website.

Skytop Lodge
Skytop
is a very high-end, all-inclusive resort, also located in Pennsylvania.  The grounds are stunning, food delicious, service attentive and activities plentiful.  The ultimate winter vacation here isn’t cheap, but this February they are offering a 20% discount on two night stays with the Winter Wonderland Special.  Skytop is a low-key place to learn to ski, and they are including free skiing and ski equipment in the package.

Chicago
So what if it’s cold and famously windy?  There’s a lot to do for families who choose to visit Chicago this winter.  When you head inside after a busy day of sightseeing, the fun will continue at The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago.  A stay here is usually very expensive.  This winter there are some good deals at these posh digs that cater to kids.  Until April 30, families who stay two nights get the third night free. Kids will enjoy the 50-foot indoor swimming pool, afternoon visits from the Ice Cream Man and complimentary red wagons to pull the kids around town. 

Philadelphia
Philly is a lot of fun for families in any season. The Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing has a great family special this winter.  The Winter Family Escape Package includes parking, tickets to the BlueCross RiverRink for ice-skating, discount coupons for Dave & Buster’s, coloring books, games and a free in-room movie.  The package starts at $159 per night, available through April 4.

Waterville Valley Resort, New Hampshire
Nestled in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Waterville Valley is a family-friendly ski and snowboard resort.  The Winter Unlimited Package includes five nights lodging Sunday-Thursday, daily lift tickets for four, a welcome breakfast, dinner one night and lots of other perks.  The 5-night package starts at $272 per night for a family of four.

Santa Fe
When you think of Western ski destinations, Santa Fe, New Mexico may not be the first location that comes to mind. But with an average of 300 inches of snow annually, plus loads to do après ski, it is a fine winter getaway.  The city is full of beauty and urban flair, plus the mountain resort Ski Santa Fe is just 16 miles from downtown.  For West Coast families, it is an easy and often inexpensive direct flight.  Several hotels are offering ski and stay packages.  The Inn at Santa Fe is offering a package that includes, room, breakfast and two lift tickets to Ski Santa Fe for $195 per night. Beaver Creek, Colorado

Cape Cod
Ocean Edge Resort has a February special valid from February 15-23, when some schools have a winter break.  If your family likes the serenity of the beach in winter, consider spending some time here.  The resort is offering many activities for the school break week.  Kids can swim in two indoor swimming pools, enjoy a hip-hop dance class, karaoke night, family-friendly movies and much more.  Wine and chocolate tastings should appeal to the adults in your party.  Rates start at $129 per room, per night.

Disney Cruise Line
If you are considering a family vacation on the water, Kids ages 17 and under sail free on select Disney Cruise Line itineraries departing from Miami and Galveston.  To take advantage of this offer, kids must share a stateroom with two full-fare paying guests.

Norfolk, Virginia
Norfolk is a somewhat under-the-radar destination that is very welcoming to families.  It is a maritime city, rich in Naval history.  The Nauticus Museum includes a retired World War II destroyer that you can explore.  The Virginia Zoo, Norfolk Botanical Garden, and Chrysler Museum of Art are just a few of the activities that families can engage in.  Norfolk hosts around 100 festivals annually, so there is always something to celebrate here. At the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside the Families are Invited deal includes free valet parking, free meals for kids and an in-room movie, starting at $110 nightly on weekends.
